How it works

We bring the classroom to you!

Our trained staff teaches a curriculum developed by River Heights Child Care’s Reggio inspired Montessori and delivers a program designed for the home setting. Our program takes the best parts of Reggio Emilia and Montessori teaching methods and combines them to make a stimulating, educational, and most importantly, a fun experience for all of our children. We transform your living space! Our teachers utilize innovative mobile classrooms to bring the highest quality childcare to your home.

We Offer

  • Small Class sizes. Each class has up to 3 infants (ages 1-2). That is a 3:1 ratio meaning your child receives lots of individual attention from our teachers.
  • Early age infant spaces available (ages 0-1)
  • Your class rotates to each child’s home on a monthly basis. Each home is inspected for safety and cleanliness in order to be accepted into the infant child care program.
  • Our program is flexible(within agreed on operating hours)! No specified pickup or drop-off times.
  • Friend grouping.
  • Custom requests available.
  • Our services are tax deductible! Unlike most other at-home programs we issue the correct tax documents to ensure you get every dollar you are entitled to.
  • We use the BrightWheel app to send daily updates (Infant care program only)
  • We operate in 3-month blocks to ensure maximum flexibility for your schedule.
  • Spaces are always available and groups of 3 will be assigned on a first-come basis.
  • Unless friend grouping is requested, we will always try to make the groups as close to each other as possible.

Schedule Home Consultation

Schedule your home consultation. This $200 fee acts as your deposit to enroll your child in our at-home program. The Modern Family will come to your home and ensure it meets our safety and cleanliness standards. A follow up appointment is scheduled 1-week prior to starting your at-home block.

We match you with up to 2 other families unless friend grouping is requested. Have a special request? Let us know!

3-month blocks are paid for either in full and receive a 5% discount, or monthly payments are available and are made 1 month in advance.

Registration for the upcoming block is done at the end of month 2 in the current block. Pre-registration for future blocks is available.

  • $200 home inspection. Ensures your home meets The Modern Family’s safety and cleanliness standards. This fee acts as your registration deposit to secure your space.
  • $200 classroom materials fee. Due upon registration.
  • Monthly tuition: $1800, based on $85/day.

The Modern Family has several requirements for families to host our mobile classrooms:

  • Windows- There must be an outdoors window providing natural light into the space. Preferably at child-height to allow them to view the outdoors.
  • Washroom- There must be a washroom facility available for our teaching staff, and for potty training. A portable potty is acceptable for the children.
  • Size of the classroom- The indoor space must have a minimum of 50 square feet of useable play area per child.
  • Exits- all homes must have a minimum of 2 exits that are free of obstructions.
  • Child-proofing- All spaces must be appropriately child-proof to ensure the safety of the children. Baby gates, plug covers, door latches, no sharp corners, etc.
  • All homes must have access to a yard or outdoor space.
